Improvising

This dress is a mix of two outfits, an OOAK by Alana Bennett (dollfashionsbyalana.com): the layered tulle skirt; blue robe and the top comes from a Franklin Mint Gibson Girl outfit. The doll of course, Mrs. Charles Hamilton without the curls. This brings out a wish for doll collectors who adore period/historical costuming -- a hope that somehow doll manufacturers can treat historical costuming pieces for dolls like mix and match items similar to modern fashion dolls. It's pragmatic actually allowing the doll collector to explore various looks for a particular historical period. I hope doll manufacturers also read doll blogs -- there you have it?
